Messier 8 - NGC 6523 M8, or the Lagoon Nebula, is a giant emission nebula in the constellation Sagittarius. Also pictured to the right is the Trifid Nebula (M20), and unusual combination of an emission nebula (red portion), a reflection nebula (blue portion) and a dark nebula. Centaurus A - NGC5128 A prominent galaxy in the constellation of Centaurus. The center of the galaxy contains a supermassive black hole. While the galaxy is the fifth brightest in the sky, it is only visible from low northern latitudes and the southern hemisphere. The Little Ghost Nebula - NGC 6369 NGC6369 - The Little Ghost Nebula. This is a planetary nebula in the constellation Ophiuchus. Taken 5/5/2014 with T31, a Planewave 20" CDK and FLP Proline 9000 CCD. This is a transformed white dwarf star which you can see at the very center of the nebula.

Carina Nebula - NGC3372 A large bright nebula, also known as the Grand Nebula. The nebula is one of the largest diffuse nebulae visible from Earth, four times as large as the famous Orion Nebula. Messier 82 - NGC 3034 & Messier 81 - NGC 3031 Messier 82 (left), known as the Cigar Galaxy, is a prototype nearby starburst galaxy. Visible here - M82 experienced an apparent Type Ia supernova (SN 2014J), which was observed in the galaxy on 21 January 2014. M81 (right) or Bode's Galaxy is a spiral galaxy. This shot was taken on 2014-01-28, one week after the supernova, with T11, a Planewave 20" CDK located at the New Mexico Skies Observatories in Mayhill, New Mexico.

The nicknames "Black Eye" or "Evil Eye" galaxy come from the dark band of visible dust in front of the galaxy's nucleus.
